Movement has the power to unlock insight, emotional release, and healing — without needing to analyze or fix anything. Answers come through the dance.

5Rhythms® is a somatic movement meditation practice created by Gabrielle Roth, using music and free-form movement to support self-awareness, emotional expression, and transformation.

As a 5Rhythms® Teacher in Training, mentored by Ray Diaz and Stuart Phillips, my intention is to hold a safe space where you can fully express, release, and move through your experiences, letting insight and transformation emerge through the body.

Each 5Rhythms® wave offers a simple yet powerful map for embodied exploration:

  • Flowing — we arrive in our bodies, guided by the feet, learning to trust the ground beneath us.
  • Staccato — we give shape to our energy, finding clarity, direction, and the confidence to express ourselves physically.
  • Chaos — we let the body loosen and unwind, allowing movement to release tension and open space inside.
  • Lyrical — we lighten, lift, and rediscover the natural ease and creativity of the moving body.
  • Stillness — we soften into quiet motion, listening for what is present in breath, weight, and subtle shifts.

Between the head and feet of any given person is a billion miles of unexplored wilderness.

Together, 5Rhythms® invite us to

  • feel rooted and alive in our bodies,
  • release tension and emotions we’ve carried quietly,
  • explore new pathways of movement and expression,
  • cultivate ease, agility, and subtle awareness,
  • meet ourselves—and each other—with curiosity, compassion, and the gentle rhythm of being fully alive.

No dance experience is needed — just a willingness to move and listen to your body.

All bodies are welcome. All movement is welcome.

Do I need dance experience?

No. 5Rhythms is a free-form movement practice with no choreography or steps to learn. All bodies and levels of experience are welcome.

Who is this practice for?

This practice is open to anyone curious about movement, embodiment, and self-exploration. You’re welcome, whether you feel confident moving or are brand new to dance.

What should I bring or wear?

Wear comfortable clothing you can move and sweat in, and bring a water bottle. Layers are recommended so you can adjust as your body warms up. Bare feet or soft dance shoes are highly encouraged.

Is this a fitness class?

No. While the practice can be physically energizing, the focus is on awareness, expression, and presence rather than performance or exercise.

Is the space accessible?

Accessibility varies by venue. If you have specific access needs or questions, please get in touch ahead of time, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Can I move at my own pace?

Absolutely. You are always invited to listen to your body and move in ways that feel right for you.
